Death or Conversion

An Afghan Man was given the choice of conversion back to Islam or death. He refused. Some in the government are saying that the man is mentally ill. This would give them the opportunity to keep their law and still let the man live. I think its absurd. I thought we helped to liberate this country from the Taliban to stop the crazy religious ideas. They may be slightly more moderate but the craziness persists.

I'm all for people believing in God the way they want. I just think that stops where it infringes on other people's belief in God. If your religion is so great, you shouldn't need to kill someone to make them a part of it. (or keep them from leaving it.) More and more I think Islam is a very dangerous religion. I see nothing peaceful about it.

I'm not saying other religions haven't had their bad times. The Christians also went through a convert or die phase. They got over it. I think that this was because the basic teaching of Christianity is peace. Islam isn't necessarily so nice... "Fight those who neither believe in Allah nor the Last Day, who do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, and do not embrace the religion of the truth, being among those who have been given the Book (Bible and the Torah), until they pay tribute out of hand and have been humiliated." (Surah 9:29)
